Markup Language which is generally referred to as HTML is the basic markup language that is used in the design and making of web pages. This language is written normally in elements that consist of tags that are enclosed in angle brackets for example <html>.
The tags normally come in pairs with the first tag being known as start tag <html>while the second tag is referred to as closing or end tag </html>. All the content of the elements is placed in between the two tags.
These tags may further enclose multiple markup tags within them consisting of a mixture of texts and tags. The difference between the start tag and the end tag is the end tag has a back slash enclosed together with it in the angle brackets which the start tag does not have any slash.
<p> your paragraph here </p>
The p element here is being used to define a paragraph.
The strong element is declaring the text to be printed in Bold text.
The html language may be written in different font sizes depending on the use and position in a web page. In the majority cases, the top heading is of a bigger font as compared to the subsequent headings to show a form of uniformity and neatness in the display of the pages.
This language is the backbone of design of numerous web-pages hence when you learn to write the language you are well equipped with the basic knowledge of designing web-pages for your website on your own.
This is the simplest computer language to learn because it operates on a few basic concepts which are slightly modified to present different information. Once you understand the basic concept of the start tag and end tag, the rest of the information is normally sandwiched between these tags.
Different headings have different font html displays. This language also allows you to mix colours in your text display combining with cascading sheet display making your web-page interesting and appealing to your readers and viewers.
With the correct font html arrangements and proper insertion of information between the pair of tags <html> and </html> you are well set to design and develop effective web pages for your website.
There are those tags that do not come in pairs for example <img> because they represent some other resource for instance an image in this case. With html, you are able to design and set-up almost all your web-pages.
